Recognise & Classify

A big challenge faced by many companies is how to process paper documents such as invoices, delivery notes, contracts and accompanying papers. After all, these often contain valuable information which is important for many different areas within the company.

Optical character recognition

With ELO OCR, documents can be scanned and automatically archived using keywording (indexing), eliminating the need for manual processing.
Another big advantage of OCR is the full-text search in TIF documents. This makes it possible to search all of the content of scanned documents and not just the keywording index. This ensures purposeful and quick searching.

Intelligent document capture

Once the documents have been scanned and the keywording information is available, these must then be classified and checked. In the case of an invoice, this could mean recognising the individual invoice positions and, for example, carrying out a comparison with an ERP system to see whether an order exists and whether the invoice is identical to the order (thre-way-match).

In the ideal situation, an invoice could be completely booked automatically.

Other examples of document capture and classification might be in the area of incoming mail in which e-mails are captured and classified and automatically assigned to an employee or business process.
